Four of the top drama schools in the UK will be coming to Nottingham this June to give free and valuable insight about how to get into professional training.
All About Drama School will be hosted by Nonsuch on Saturday 2 June and is open for anybody aged 16-19 and looking to go to drama school.
Representatives from RADA, Central School of Speech and Drama, East 15 and Italia Conti will help aspiring performers from across the East Midlands who may not have access to open days to discover more about the path they want to take.
The intensive event will provide information about entering professional training and to explore the range of routes provided by different drama schools.
The day will not solely explore acting courses but will also encourage those wishing to look at other options such as Stage Management and Lighting Design.
Our artistic director, Edward Boott, said: “At a time when the costs of entering professional actor training are increasing, we will not be charging for this event as we want to offer the same opportunities to aspiring performers in the East Midlands as those based in London.
“This city has such a wealth of talent which we are determined to support and see go on to great things with the training Nottingham’s creatives deserve access to.”
All About Drama School is presented as part of our Young Performer Training Programme – a course which readies actors and performers from Nottingham for entry into drama school or other training routes.
This programme is run on a pay-what-you-can basis, meaning participants simply pay what they can for each session with the amount being capped at £10.
However, this intensive and informative session is being offered for free and open to anybody wishing to attend.
