Dynamic & Inspiring Workshops for GCSE, BTEC & ALEVEL

Workshops for Schools and Colleges are where our community programme began and since 2010 we’ve been delivering highly acclaimed sessions across the UK to thousands of young people every year.

With strong roots in Nonsuch’s international training and theatrical style, our workshops aim to empower students to be the best theatre makers they can and give them the tangible skills required to improve what they produce whatever your Key Stage Level or exam board.

Our workshops also have been incredibly well received as support for cross-curricular needs (especially English and Citizenship), and our community team are more than happy to discuss any bespoke requests.

All our workshops are tailored to suit yours and your students’ needs to ensure that everyone gets the most out of our time at your institution, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch to talk through your ideas – we can’t wait to hear from you!

All our workshops are tailored to your needs, but here are some suggestions.

Devising & Physical Theatre

An introduction into the way we produce and create work at Nonsuch. Inspired by international physical theatre, playfulness and clown, this workshop is all about exploring how to create theatre starting with the body.

Practitioner Intensives

Our team are experts in the theory, techniques and practice of many of theatre’s greatest practitioners and styles. From Berkoff to Growtowski, Stanislavski to Brecht, Lecoq to Artaud, Commedia dell’Arte, Shakespeare and many more!

Curriculum Workshops

Be it exploring a set text, developing knowledge of rehearsal techniques or learning how to perform a monologue, we’re able to run workshops in response to any units/exams of all major exam board GCSEs, ALevels and BTEC qualifications.

Creative Futures

Finishing education is just the start of many students’ creative journeys and over the past 5 years, we’ve helped countless young performers bridge the gap to future training. Our professional development workshops explore the reality of further drama training and practically let students learn about different routes to careers in performance.

Why Nonsuch?

Our workshops are the best way to inspire your students or help them reach the next level in making the best theatre and performance they can. Each session we deliver is designed to ensure that students:

  • build the skills they need to devise and create the best theatre they can
  • develop confidence as performers and makers raising the standards of the work they produce
  • explore production specific techniques and processes demonstrating real-world uses of workshop content.
  • understand the various devising processes used by Nonsuch when working collaboratively to produce multi-disciplined performance, which will transfer perfectly to their own productions

Extra Support

Alongside the workshop itself, you’ll get hands-on support from both the Nonsuch Team at Nonsuch HQ and the practitioner running your session, including:

  • a tailored outline of the workshop sent in advance to support your planning and student onboarding.
  • appropriate student handouts for the workshop – confirmed at the time of booking.
  • links and teacher resources linked to the selected content of the workshop.
  • invitation to join Nonsuch’s online community forum for other teachers and practitioners.
