Nonsuch has partnered with Derby Theatre’s professional artist development programme, In Good Company, to enable three under 25s to experience the Edinburgh Fringe.
This opportunity has been made possible through Do Your Thing [DYT], a creative platform powered by Nonsuch for 13-25 year olds which provides young creatives with the space, opportunities, support and platform to do their thing. Find out more by visiting dytlive.co.uk.
As a result of In Good Company’s support of Nonsuch and DYT, three young regional artists, who are all just starting out in their career, Fatih Goesku (aged 21 from Derby); Ethel Mudavanhu (aged 21 from Nottingham) and Sophie Holloway (aged 22 from Nottingham) will get the opportunity to simply experience and soak up all that the world renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival has to offer.
During their time in Edinburgh, they will immerse themselves in the Festival and see as many shows, of all types of genre, as possible; meet many other creatives, artists and practitioners in the industry – producers, artists and companies – all combining to provide these three regional young creatives with an incredibly enriching and insightful experience.

In Good Company recognises that the Edinburgh Fringe is a brilliant place to see new and innovative work, but it’s costs and scale can be prohibitive for young people just starting out in the industry. Therefore we wanted some young people the chance to experience the fringe for the first time and approached Nonsuch, who have a great track record of working with young people, to ask if they would like to support us in helping more people access this brilliant arts festival. We hope name Fatih, Sophie and Ethel will return to the East Midlands with knowledge and experience they can share with their peers and be inspired for their own work in the arts.

As a young theatre maker this opportunity has given me a unique chance to travel up to Edinburgh fringe and experience the fringe with industry professional something that would have been impossible without the help of DYT. The Fringe is one of the most exciting event of the year for a theatre maker because of the vast amounts plays and people that one can meet, interact and share ideas with.

Edinburgh is such a stimulating environment for young creatives. Partnering with In Good Company has meant that we’re able to offer this amazing opportunity to three incredibly deserving individuals at the start of their career. It’s going to be one hell of a week for them and a great first live brief for DYT.
